This unit operation replicates a Cause and Effect matrix

commomly used in designing and operating the safety

system of many processing plants.

 It takes Inputs called Causes and sends Outputs called

Effects

 Each Input generate either a Healthy(1) or Tripped(0)

state

 The output is a boolean variable (1 or 0) which results from

processing one of the Cause and Effect Matrix colums,

and then any orther object in the simulation may read or

use this value.

Open the simulation case 09.ES.usc 2. Simulation → Event Scheduler 3. Inactive the High Liquid Level by pressing the Stop button 4.
